Customers

PBS International is a truly international company: our customers come to us from 29 countries across 6 continents of the world to purchase our pollen-proof bags.

We believe that the widespread popularity of PBS pollination bags is attributable to their intense durability. They can withstand repeated onslaught from wind and rain without losing their shape and can be submitted to intense heat and sunlight without losing any of their unique protective features. It’s the robust design of the bags that make them suitable for use in all climates across the globe. We understand the issues that plant breeding programmes around the world encounter, so we even add extra features to make them more suitable to their environment if you require them, such as material flaps for blocking out strong light.

If you require a standard or bespoke pollination bag, wherever you are in the world, we can produce something to meet your needs.

What our customers think of PBS products:

Thanks for such a great product

University of Oxford, Department of Plant Sciences – 15/11/10   First, a quick report on the non-woven polyester bags you sent me last month: they are fantastic and really helpful in allowing us to cross our Mercurialis plants, thank you! … As a result, we’d be interested in purchasing a few more. .. and many thanks once again for sending the first batch – they are brilliant!

Hop Breeder, SAB Hop Farms – 20/04/10 First of all, thank you for having such a great product. The bags are durable; they are consistent in appearance and construction. It resists water absorption and retains its shape when wet. Your product has met our specific requirements and as an added bonus it is wonderful that they are available in a variety of sizes. In conclusion, we look forward to doing business with you in the future.

PBS bags meet the standards required for scientific testing

Christmas Tree Genetics, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, USA – September 2011 This spring, 2011, we had a storm… Two of the branch tips with PBS bags had broken off, both of which were previously weak.  The pollination bags were still intact around the branch… From all my years of tree improvement work, your bags are by far the sturdiest we have used.  Hopefully they will last us for several years of pollination work.

The University of British Columbia, Canada – April 2011 The bags did arrive and have been put to good use, thanks. I’m attaching two pictures … I put bamboo barbecue sticks next to the flower stalks and then the bags on top of both – it actually works quite nicely.

Sorrel - Oxyria digyna

Member of the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences, University of Helsinki – 01/03/10 We are going to make a quite large self pollination experiment with silver birch in mid April … Based on our pilot experiment your bags are excellent for our purposes.
